Cedric and Goéric planned a Mt. Shasta trip. We started at the Brewer Creek trailhead (actually a few miles from it, since the road was still snowed in) at around 6k feet and went up the Hotlum/Wintun Ridge. We camped around 10k feet and summited the next day (14,179 feet). This trip was my first time mountaineering, my first time using snowshoes, my first time taking diamox, my first time using crampons on snow, and my first hailstorm.
Cedric's writeup is great.
These pictures were taken by me and Goéric, Cedric's pictures are in
his album. Goéric also made an awesome
200MB HD video slideshow, he recommends downloading the file rather than viewing it in your browser since it's so large.
